PEEL, Inc.
Sucks
Here is a copy of a conversation I had
with another ISP in the PEEL chat area. An innocent conversation
struck up between two innocent ISP's having problems, after which I
was banned from the chat area, after having just been banned from
the forum for mentioning the
Better
Business Bureau.
If you are not aware, you can save those conversations as a text
file. I have removed the other ISP's name to avoid retaliation, as
he is still an active ISP with PEEL,
Inc., which as you now know,
SUCKS.

[Don Thompson] Kelvin, will you try and pull up my ISP site, right
now?
http://koolhost.org Tim says I called him a liar and that they
were reconstructed. Please see for yourself that my site is still
not there and let him know.
[???] Don, you're sites not there
[Don Thompson (Private)] I know. I wish I could tell you what they
have put me through, from bookkeeping errors, to wrongfully deleted
sites. Even the BBB has bad reports on them. I just can't seem to
get any help. That particular site was supposed to have been
restored on Nov. 19th.
[Don Thompson (Private)] They have kept me without an ISP site for
over a month, because of their billing errors.
[??? (Private)] Man, I really wish I'd known about that b4 I signed
that contract. I kept putting it off for 3 or 4 months, coming back
every once in a while to check things out again, you know. Finally
decided I could trust these guys and I'm beginning to believe that I
may have made a mistake?
[??? (Private)] yeah, I've seen in the forum where some folks have
had problems with the money and PEEL just blows it off - says it's
not a priority!
[Don Thompson (Private)] I've been with Tim for nearly 2 years, and
the last year has been pure hell with over billings every month.
[Don Thompson (Private)] Looks like I got banned from the forum
today for mentioning the BBB.
[??? (Private)] damn! so it hasn't always been like that, just
recently huh? They made a bunch of noise about a mysql upgrade and
getting it all caught up here recently. You're still fall-out from
that, huh?
[Don Thompson (Private)] Things went smooth for me until the
upgrades last Nov. 2001.
[??? (Private)] Maybe you need to mention that to the BBB, along
with all your other complaints?
[??? (Private)] double-damn! that long!?
[Don Thompson (Private)] New prices went into effect then, but I
have still been getting billed at the old prices all year. Kept
putting in trouble tickets, but they would only correct them every 6
months or so.
[Don Thompson (Private)] I think I was banned from there today for
mentioning it . I tried to get in awhile ago and my login no longer
works.
[Don Thompson (Private)] I will be the next complaint if Tim doesn't
do something soon.
[??? (Private)] and I thought I was the lucky one, signing up only
to find out that the cpanel had been dropped in favor of this new
(probably cheaper for them) dsm - that has been working like $&*%
for me! Nothing but recurring problems and techs that don't seem to
give a flying &#^$ - I've been working as a sys admin for the last
decade - I understand computers and I know how to explain problems -
I send very detailed TT's. - they keep getting sent back HOURS later
with 'need you to state the problem' - 'need you to give more
detail' - or they blow it off with a 'you're not (or are) doing
such-and-such which is wrong' - which I'm NOT! FINALLY after going
round-&-round, getting all worked up, raising my blood pressure they
discover I'm right, a patch hasn't been applied, or my server didn't
get rebooted like all the others after the patch, or some bullshit.
If it happened once or even twice, I'd fall for it, but it's been
over and over for two and a half months now!!! I'm getting pretty
pissed off!
[??? (Private)] I haven't even gotten all of my own sites moved over
yet, much less started seriously selling hosting. As I've started
asking Kelvin, How can I? with service like this??? I'm not going to
sell something that doesn't work and so far PEEL hasn't showed me
anything that does work!
[??? (Private)] what side of TX you on?
[Don Thompson (Private)] I hear you. At least you are getting
responses. Kevin kicked my TT back to admin on the 11th, and Tim
just answered it tonight and accused me of calling him a liar,
saying my site is up. I never called him that, and as you can see,
my site is not up.
[Don Thompson (Private)] I'm just outside San Antonio
[??? (Private)] Kelvin just sent me a private reply stating that
it's a finance thing between you and Tim, and that Tim said your
clients were back up, he wasn't going to put your site back up This
is pretty ridiculous too I think. I mean, I understand the supposed
efficiencies of using the TT for support, but totally excluding
phone and email? Come on! and don't even go there with "Tim's phone
number" - I think that's the biggest bunch of BS that's being
unloaded on us. I've gotten a busy once, all the other times it has
just been an outgoing message... It would save a lot of time and
frustration if you could get on the phone with somebody and TALK it
out instead of playing this Monkey-go-Round TT game all the time.
It's usually not until I can Grab Kelvin in here that I FINALLY get
some action!!!
[??? (Private)] p.s. Hate that damn <CTRL> key
[Don Thompson (Private)] Yes, and If you do get him on the phone and
say something that he disagrees with, he will hang up on you.
[Don Thompson] Kelvin, is Tim not going to fix my ISP site, and my
WHM?
[??? (Private)] Oh My GOD, you gotta be kidding me
[Don Thompson (Private)] I wish I was.
[Don Thompson (Private)] In case you ever need it, keep my email
handy. ???@???.com I have kept copies of the monthly billings that
show that Tim will change the billings to suit his needs. Seems like
fraud to me, but is his system.
[Don Thompson (Private)] I guess Kelvin doesn't want to answer me
now, too.
[??? (Private)] saw that on your whois, I like it! I will keep it
handy, for sure.
[kelvin brown DC] but there is nothing I can do , it's finance
[??? (Private)] convenient excuse, huh?
[??? (Private)] have you seen Post subject: I am not standing for
this...
[Don Thompson (Private)] I'm not sure what you are talking about
[Don Thompson (Private)] Where is it located?
[??? (Private)]
http://www.internet-marketing-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=509
[Don Thompson (Private)] I think I'm banned, it will not let me log
in
[??? (Private)] can't you view without logging in???
[Don Thompson (Private)] It will not let me in
[??? (Private)] once again, I'm not crazy, there IS something wrong
with the DSM
[Don Thompson (Private)] Even the link above takes me to the login
page.
[??? (Private)] check your email
[Don Thompson (Private)] I think that must have been someone else
[??? (Private)] there's two of 'em mentioned in the thread -
apparently Tim's pretty good at pissing people off - maybe he hung
up on THEM!?
[Don Thompson (Private)] I did post a message, but it was an above
board message with my name and asking for help getting Tim to help
with the problems, and discussed the problems. Nothing nasty on my
part, except I did post the link to the BBB.
[??? (Private)] that's pretty shitty that they'd lock you out over
that - I put a message in there the other day nicely asking if any
of the other users were having the same email problems that I was -
it disappeared over night! - Experience has taught me that users can
often learn and help and troubleshoot faster than 'support' can.
Most tech supports like to keep their users as isolated from each
other as they can with regard to problems. They can tell you, You're
the only one having that problem. & how would you know that 20 other
people are too, unless you were able to communicate with them in a
forum of some kind? Seemed pretty Draconian for them to delete my
thread, as it does for them to have locked you out...
[Don Thompson (Private)] They are getting really good with their
cover-ups. I am just thankful that I have made copies of my billings
in the admin. section every month, or I would have nothing to prove
the problems I've had. They completely change their books to remove
any mistakes they've made.
[Don Thompson (Private)] When they over bill by 200.00 dollars, they
just change it when it suits them, instead of giving a credit and
saying they are sorry. That way the mistake just goes away and they
can later claim it never happened. They may actually forget it
happened since it is no longer on record.
[??? (Private)] well, thanks for the "heads up" I'll keep an eye on
them for sure. Wish I could find a mechanic I trust to work on my
car too...
[Don Thompson (Private)] Thanks for listening ???, it helps just to
have someone to listen and discuss it with.
[??? (Private)] good luck to ya, I'm sure I'll run into you again in
here, next time one of my accounts can't send or receive email
(which has been MOST of my recurring problems, or the one b4 this,
when a domain that I finally moved over started resolving on PEEL
servers, but was showing some ones ISP seller page and not my
index.html - took a couple of days and several rounds of TT's back &
forth b4 I finally caught Kelvin in here and got him to go get it
straightened out - Seems like I can't get anything done with these
guys without getting a hold of him in here p.s. - file it, my
email is ???@???.com -- I guess I might also need to go get a
non-peel-hosted address just in case, huh?
